Washington (Kavian Press) – On Tuesday during a roundtable event in Kenosha, Wisconsin, President Donald Trump denied violence by police against Black communities is systemic, answering for two Black pastors in the room.
The two Black pastors were the Jacob Blake’s family pastors, the man shot by police seven times in the back a few days ago.
When asked by a reporter whether like other Black community leaders, they believed police violence was a systemic issue, instead of Wards answering the question, Trump started to answer the question saying, “I don’t believe that. I think the police do an incredible job and I think you do have some bad apples.”
“You do have the other situation, too, where they’re under tremendous pressure and they don’t handle it well. They call it choking and it happens.” He further added.
Even after the reporter tried to clarify that the question was directed toward the pastors, the pastors did not get the chance to answer the question.
It’s not clear whether Trump answered the question intentionally or did not understand the question was directed toward pastors.
