Washington (Kavian Press)- A federal judge ruled against President Donald Trump in his tax records fight on Thursday granting possible access to New York state prosecutors to investigate President Trump’s financial records.
The U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero put an end to a subsequent argument from Trump that he has presidential immunity from such an inquiry. “Justice requires an end to this controversy,” Marrero wrote in his decision.
According to the ruling New York prosecutors will have access to the financial records as early as next week. President Trump has already started to appeal the decision an hour after the judge’s decision.
New York prosecutors led by District Attorney Cyrus Vance are investigating President Trump and his Organization for possible tax frauds, falsified business records and payments made to women claimed had affairs with President Trump.
Trump was the only President in recent decades that did not disclose his tax returns before becoming the elected President. Since becoming the President, he has fought hard against efforts by lawmakers and prosecutors to obtain those records.
