Washington (Kavian Press)- Protest erupted on the street of Wisconsin late Sunday after police shot a Black man multiple times in the back Sunday evening while he was entering to his car with his three children inside the car.
The man, identified by Wisconsin’s governor as Jacob Blake, is in serious condition and fighting for his life. The man’s attorney Ben Crump posted a short video of the shooting online leading to protest across the county.
According to CNN report, protestors broke windows and set fires to vehicles at a nearby auto dealership. There was also report about fire in county courthouse, urging police officers to form a line to protect government building.
The two police officers involved in shooting are on leave as of Monday as the governor’s office started to investigate the shooting. “DCI is continuing to review evidence and determine the facts of this incident and will turn over investigative reports to a prosecutor following a complete and thorough investigation,” governor office said in a statement.
“While we do not have all of the details yet, what we know for certain is that he is not the first Black man or person to have been shot or injured or mercilessly killed at the hands of individuals in law enforcement.” The statement added.
The shooting came as protests across American erupted for months after the killing of the George Floyed in the hand of police.
