Kabul (Kavian Press) – Mir Rahman Rahmani , speaker of Afghanistan’s Lower House of Parliament, is among the politically exposed persons (PEPs) who bought Cypriot citizenship for himself, his wife and three daughters, according to an investigative report published by Al-Jazeera.
Politically exposed persons (PEPs), are internationally recognized as a category of individuals who are at higher risk of corruption because they or their family members hold some form of government position.
The price for each passport is $2.5m each and they were mostly sold to elected politicians of several countries and in some cases known criminals.
