Kabul (Kavian Press) – Heavy floods killed more than a hundred and injured more than 150 others in Charikar city of Parwan province of Afghanistan.

The flood caused by overnight rain and hit the city early morning while many people were still in bed and did not have the chance to evacuate. “more than 1,500 houses are destroyed in Parwan province and many people are still missing” a spokesman from the disaster management ministry of Afghanistan said.
“hundreds acres of farming land and crops were destroyed as a result of heavy rains and floods in eight other north and northwestern provinces as of Wednesday morning.” the spokesman added.
The disaster management ministry also said the flood has blocked many highways making aid and supply transportation difficult.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has ordered immediate delivery of aid and supply to the affected areas and expressed his condolences to people affected by the flood.
