Washington (Kavian Press) – Ending eight-month break in settlement expansion, Israel has approved 2,166 new construction homes across the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, according AFP news agency.
United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed agreements to normalize relations with Israel last month and at the time both countries said; Israel will stop further annexation of West Bank in response to the deal.
Under international law, settlements are considered illegal. Palestinian officials and much of the international community view them as the main obstacle to a viable two-state solution.
It said about 2,000 more homes were expected to be approved on Thursday.
