Washington (Kavian Press) – A week from U.S. general election, CBS’s correspondant Lesley Stahl said the giant book presented to her as the president’s health care plan after President Trump walked out of a “60 Minutes” interview had “no comprehensive healthcare plan.”
Trump cut the interview short last week and abruptly left the room complaining about Stahl being biased toward him and asking him tough questions compared to his Democrat opponent Joe Biden.
Press secretary Kayleigh McEnany then walked in to deliver what she said was the White House health care plan, which now, Stahl says the book lacked an actual health care plan.
“President Trump’s press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, gave us a heavy book that she described as the president’s health care plan. It was filled with executive orders and congressional initiatives, but no comprehensive healthcare plan,” she said.
Trump released his portion of the interview on his Facebook page against his office agreement with CBS Network and criticized Stahl’s questions and allegedly claimed the interview will be shared by the network in a biased manner against him.
CBS aired the full interview Sunday as decided both parties.
Health care is one of the main issues concerning many elderly American who mostly voted for Trump in 2016. As the Covid-19 cases surge in America and almost all states see spike of new cases, Trump administration is trying to repeal Affordable Care Act or Obama Care which will leave more than 20 million Americans without health insurance and a 100 million more with pre-existing condition with no other option.
Trump has been constantly under pressure by reporters in recent weeks to reveal his healthcare plan to American public, but Trump has only said he, “has a beautiful plan with coverage for pre-existing condition” without any proof or any officially published plan in an official capacity.
Only a week from the November third general election, the news of no healthcare plan could hurt Trump very badly and sway many senior voters away from him, the same voter group handed him the White House in 2016.
