Washington (Kavian Press)-Mohammad Hanif Al-Qaida leader for Indian subcontinent killed in a special operation by Afghan Special Forces in Bakwa district of Farah province, according to the reports released by Afghan National Security Agency.
“The Al-Qaida leader who is a Pakistani resident was killed in a special operation conducted by the Afghan Special Forces”. The press release stated.
Two Pakistani women were also arrested during the operation too.
The Al-Qaeda leader was a prominent Taliban member until he joint Al-Qaeda in 2010.
Widely supported by the Taliban he first started his operation in southern Helmand province and then went to Farah. With no permanent headquarter, he had widespread network across south and southwestern provinces of Farah, Nimrouz, and Helmand and across the border in Pakistan.
According to Afghan intelligence, he had close ties to the Taliban and provided technical support to the group by making IEDs, suicide vests and loading car bombs.
Despite the news of the operation, Afghan intelligence has not issued any photo or other documents related to this high ranking Al-Qaeda leader.
After signing a peace agreement with the United States back in February, the Taliban has emphasized about cutting ties with Al-Qaeda and ISIS, but in only in the last two months, this is the second Al-Qaeda leader killed in the Taliban controlled territories
